Food is one of the most important parts of any backcountry trip. It fuels your body for long days on the trail, keeps your energy steady, and is often one of the highlights at the end of a tough day. The right meals can boost morale, bring a group together, and make the difference between just getting by and truly enjoying the journey.
Classic Backpacker Menu
Hearty, tasty meals designed to fuel long days on the trail. Think comfort food with a backcountry twist—simple, filling, and always satisfying.
Vegetarian Menu
Energizing meals built around grains, beans, and veggies. Packed with flavor (and plenty of protein) to keep you moving strong.
Gluten Free Menu
Trail favorites adapted for a gluten-free diet. All the fuel and flavor you need, without the worry.
Need Further Customization?
We know not everyone fits neatly into one menu. If you have food allergies, sensitivities, or other dietary needs, just let us know. We can usually make small adjustments to keep you fueled and happy on the trail.
We currently offer resupply support at these common JMT points:
Tuolumne Meadows – Mile 24
A popular first resupply for southbound hikers. We’ll have your food bucket waiting at Tuolumne so you don’t have to worry about limited post office hours or mailing deadlines.
Red's Meadow - Mile 60
Located near Devil’s Postpile and Mammoth Lakes, Red’s is a classic hiker stop with a store and grill. While hikers usually mail in cardboard boxes, we handle your food in durable 5-gallon buckets, making delivery more secure and hassle-free.
Muir Trail Ranch (MTR) – Mile 108
Located near the junction with the Piute Trail, MTR is the last resupply before the long, remote southern stretch of the JMT. Normally, hikers must send food weeks in advance in 5-gallon buckets. We take care of the mailing and logistics so your bucket is waiting for you when you arrive.
Every JMT hike is different, so we keep our pricing flexible. You’ll pay a base package fee for planning and logistics support, then add on meals, resupplies, and shuttles based on your exact itinerary.
Base Package - $300
- Initial planning call (60-90 minutes)
- Written logistics outline after the call (gear checklist, resupply plan, itinerary framework)
- Permit application coaching
Meals - $85 per-person per-day
- Meal fee covers breakfast, lunch, dinner, a snack, coffee, tea & hot chocolate
- We source high-quality dehydrated and freeze-dried ingredients, then design and assemble balanced meals from scratch. This means you get variety, nutrition, and real flavor—without the bulk and blandness of pre-packaged backpacking meals.
- Every resupply includes a meal prep cheat sheet so you’ll know exactly which meal is for which day and how to prepare it—keeping trail cooking simple, quick, and delicious
Resupplies - $150
We are happy to prep meals and have them shipped to you at these locations:

Reviews
Durs, John Muir Trail 2025
“The trip exceeded my expectations in that everything and everyone was perfect. The support during the trip and the support given to the guides was excellent…Madeline and Kanyon gave exceptional personal service for 26 days! That is extremely hard to do. They cooked us wonderful breakfast, lunch and dinners for 25 days and satisfied all of us hikers…The best thing I can say about them is that both are the most capable outdoor experts I know (Dave is in this group too). I can’t think of any negatives to the greatest service they provided.”
Becky, Sky Marathon 2025
“Your service exceeded my expectations. This was my first backpacking trip and I felt well prepared in large part to your online resources (training plan, equipment list, route description). Heather was awesome – set a careful pace and was patient and personable…She kept us safe with tips and reminders throughout the trip. I appreciated her reviewing our equipment before we left and teaching me how to pack my bag and set up a tent.”
Paul, Evolution Loop Backpacking Trip
“I went on the 6-day Evolution Loop backpacking trip. I had the time of my life. The scenery was stunningly beautiful. Our guides kept us safe, prepared excellent meals, and were very knowledgeable about the area. They were friendly and kept us informed about what to expect each day. I only wish the trip lasted more days. I’ll be back for more.”
